Meet Our Founders

A Shared Calling to Serve

Some people serve through healthcare.

Some serve by building and repairing.

Doc & Deb have spent their lives doing both.

The Doc & Deb Community Impact Foundation was born from a shared belief that everyone deserves to live in a safe home and that no one should have to face dangerous living conditions simply because they lack the resources to make essential repairs.

After years of serving their community in different ways, they realized they could make an even greater impact by combining their experience, compassion, and commitment to helping others.

Together, they created a foundation dedicated to restoring safety, preserving independence, and strengthening communities—one home at a time.

Meet Our Team

Meet Deborah

Caring for People Beyond the Hospital

Deborah has dedicated more than two decades to serving others as a registered nurse. Throughout her career, she has cared for patients, advocated for their well-being, and worked to improve the health of the communities she serves.

With a Master's degree in Community/Public Health Nursing, Deborah understands that good health doesn't begin in a doctor's office—it begins at home.

Over the years, she has seen firsthand how unsafe living conditions can impact a person's health, increase the risk of injury, and threaten their ability to remain independent.

As a proud U.S. Army veteran, Deborah brings a lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and leadership into every aspect of the foundation's work.

Her passion is helping people remain safe, healthy, and independent in the homes they love.

Meet Willie "Doc"

Building Solutions That Change Lives

Known to many simply as "Doc," Willie has spent a lifetime solving problems with his hands.

From an early age, he developed a passion for building, repairing, and improving anything that needed fixing. His commitment to learning led him to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Architectural Engineering and an Associate of Arts degree in Industrial Engineering Technology, providing a strong foundation in both design and construction.

Throughout his career, Doc has gained valuable experience working with the City of Columbia Water Department, the Lexington Department of Transportation (DOT), and in the skilled trades. These experiences have equipped him with the knowledge, craftsmanship, and practical expertise needed to complete meaningful home repairs that improve safety, accessibility, and quality of life.

Through his work, Doc has seen how something as simple as repairing a step, installing a handrail, or improving an unsafe entryway can dramatically enhance a person's ability to remain safely and independently in their home.

For him, every repair is more than a construction project—it's an opportunity to help a neighbor regain confidence, preserve independence, and improve their quality of life.

As the owners of Doctor Fix-It LLC, Doc and Deb regularly met homeowners who desperately needed repairs but simply couldn't afford them.

Many were seniors living on fixed incomes.

Others were veterans or families forced to choose between paying bills and making necessary repairs.

Whenever possible, they donated their time, labor, and expertise.

But they quickly realized the need extended far beyond what two people could accomplish alone.

They knew lasting change would require a community coming together.

That's why the Doc & Deb Community Impact Foundation was created—to unite volunteers, businesses, churches, donors, and community partners around one common purpose: Helping people live safely and independently in the homes they love.

Our Promise

As parents, grandparents, veterans, healthcare professionals, and skilled tradespeople, Doc and Deb believe every person deserves the dignity of a safe place to call home.

Their mission is rooted in compassion, strengthened by service, and driven by a simple belief: Small repairs can change lives.

Together with the community, they're committed to preserving independence, restoring hope, and strengthening neighborhoods—one repair, one home, and one family at a time.
